Just Two Events Left
Okay, you missed the last one, two, three most exciting events of 2012 but you still have time to attend the next, and second last karting event of the year.We hear some are worried "I'm going to get my butt kicked". No worries. You will. With only two events left you're not bringing home the trophy (if you missed events 1-3) but you will have fun. We guarantee all racers (in each race) will finish in the top 8. You're going to be a winner. It's just a question of how much of a winner you're going to be.

"Winter" Go-Kart Series Continues March 4th at 6:30PM at Grandprix Kartways at Downsview
Track Location can be found on the Grandprix site (www.gpkartways.com). Even if you don't want to 'kart' around come on out and meet members of the club. We do get board members coming out so if you want to come out  to meet club principles, this is a great time to do.

Cost
To participate in this series you must be a Trillium member.  Registering is easy. You can do it online at www.trillium-bmwclub.ca  (1 year membership cost is $62.15, taxes included)

The cost of each event is $50.00 (taxes included), paid directly to GPK.

Race Structure

Each event will have a total of 3 heats.

  • Heat #1:  Qualifying
  • Heat #2:  Race - Starting position based upon qualifying results
  • Heat #3:  Race - Starting position based on reverse order of qualifying

Example:  If you start on pole the first race you will start last the second race.  This format has proved successful in years past to keep the field tight and very competitive.

Please note:  Approximately 8 karts per race.  Groups will be divided the night of each race depending on amount of competitors registered

Kart Information

The general public get to enjoy a leisurely drive around the GPK track in karts set to speed 2.   Our series, however, will be using karts set to speed 1. That's right folks; this is usually only reserved for GPK's own racing league (and cool car clubs like ours) and it’s been said that karts set to speed 1 provide an advantage worth about 1.5 seconds a lap. The karts feel faster and, if we're honest, it will be a lot more fun to slide around the outside of some poor, unsuspecting competitor.
