Racer FAQ
Below is a list of frequently asked questions (and their answers) from racers...
Q. If I apply and pay in advance but do not put wheels on the track, can I get a full refund?
A. Yes.
Q. Do the entrance fees include a co-driver?
A. Yes. That is, if you team up with a co-driver, you still only pay a single entrance fee. If you campaign more than one car, then you submit additional entrance fees. Also, your single entrance fee includes banquet dinner tickets for the driver and co-driver.
Q. Who do I make the cheque (or check) out to?
A. BMWCC will work. Or more precisely "BMW Club of Canada - Trillium Chapter."
Q. Can I enter the Mosport grounds Thursday night?
A. Yes. Another party may be using the track to 5:00pm. If you have a large rig and need to cross the track, you’ll have to wait until they’re finished.
Q. Is camping permitted at Mosport?
A. Yes.
Q. Is there security at Mosport? Is the track locked at night?
A. No. There is no paid security organised for this event. The track will not be locked in the evening. If you have expensive or sensitive gear, equipment, tools, wheels, etc. that could be stolen, you must take measures yourself to secure, hide, and protect this gear. Thefts have been known to occur.
Q. Will there be tire service at the track?
A. Yes. Our sponsor Pirelli Canada / TireWorks will be on hand Friday through Sunday offering complimentary service to the racers.
Q. Is there fuel available at the track?
A. Yes. They have various octane levels including race fuel.
Q. Is there air at the track?
A. No. That is, Mosport itself does not have air. But, again, our tire sponsor will have a compressor.
Q. Which transponders are we using and are rental units available?
A. We’re using AMB transponders. Six or seven units will be available to rent for the weekend at US$50.
Q. When will the racing be over or completed (so I can begin the long journey home)?
A. Our last race is scheduled around noon on Sunday. So this means you can pack up afterwards and plan to leave mid-afternoon. That said, if you have a large rig, you’ll need to exit the track between sessions still taking place within the school.
