Mosport Paddocks
introduction
See the diagram or schematic below for information about the Mosport road course grounds and paddocks.

Washroom buildings are shown. The large washrooms building is between paddocks B and C, south-east of the restaurant. There is a small (recently-renovated) washroom building south of paddock D. There is also a washroom inside the tower building, on the main floor...
The showers building (not shown on this map) is accessed by travelling south past paddocks C and E and past the access road shown. You’ll see the large structure to the south-west past the playground on the hill...
The large "main building," between "gasoline alley" and paddock A will be used for registration and school classroom. There is a mechanic shop in the mid-west end of this building, run by Strudwick. It *may* be open during the weekend in which case they may be able to assist with repairs. There is a storage room with fire extinguishers at the extreme west end of the main building.
Public telephones are on the north side of the restaurant building.
Timing and scoring building (not shown on this map) is on the other side of the front straight. By foot you can reach T&S by using the bridge over the track.
Note the arrows in the pit lane and "gasoline alley." These show the direction of travel. In particular, gasoline alley is one-way from east-to-west!
Do not speed please along gasoline alley as people may be using doors along the north side of the main building.
parking
As we are participating in a driving school, we need to keep the "upper" paddocks (A and B) clear for instructors and students.
Please note the following change for 2006: we are reserving paddock D for the racers; the school exercise and autocross is moved to paddock C.
Paddock D is not large. So get their early and please be cozy.
Extra space and additional parking is available in the unpaved paddock E area.
The new "lower lower" paddock is reserved (for 2006) for the concours area.
accessing the paddocks
Racers may enter the grounds a couple of different ways. When the track is not in use, one may cross the track at corner 10 or corner 8. This is best for large rigs. Small trailers or self-propelled race cars can use the tunnel under corner 10.
Crossing over corner 10: Enter the Mosport grounds at main gate 3. The entrance road forks: bear left to cross over corner 10 (right is to take the tunnel under corner 10). There is a gate here, locked when the track is hot--the corner worker at 10 has a key. Passing through the track gate puts you right in the middle of corner 10. You’ll see the tower and pit wall ahead. Bear right slightly to slip between the pit wall and the tower into the pit lane entrance. Do not go all the way to the right as this puts you the wrong way down the mock grid and "gasoline alley." Continue along the pits, under the pedestrian bridge, to the ramp leading down to paddock D.
Crossing under corner 10: Enter the Mosport grounds at main gate 3. The entrance road forks: bear right to take the tunnel under the track. Immediately, as you exit the tunnel, bear left and climb the steep hill. As you reach the end of paddock A and the north-south access road, continue straight into paddock D.
Crossing over corner 8: Enter the Mosport grounds at gate 2. You’ll cross the track at corner 8. Work your way to the infield toward the north-south access road. Turn left or north passing paddock C on the left, gravel paddock E on the right. Turn right after the fuel pumps into paddock D.
See the grounds page for more info.
gridding
When you’re ready to take to the track, exit paddock D via its west ramp, turning right along the north-south access road. Turn left or west around the east-end of the "main building" to enter "gasoline alley." Continue (watch your speed) toward the tower into the "mock grid" area.
When using the pits to enter the track, make a hairpin right around the tower, into the pit lane.
When racers are instructed to take directly to the track, bypassing the pits, you’ll obviously swing wide from the tower. Do not do this when the track is hot.
